As part of the ongoing work of the National Heritage Institute (NHI) at the Karlštejn Castle, GEMA ART reconstructed the retaining wall of the main access road to this important monument.

This smaller project took place between 2014 and 2025. It involved the reconstruction of the retaining wall of the main access road to the national cultural monument Karlštejn Castle. The scope of work was to dismantle the original stonework, cut down woody plants, lay new foundations, carry out drainage and then reconstruct the retaining wall using the original material. In view of the condition of the stone structure, it was necessary to complete the brick fence pillars, including part of the masonry below them, the masonry of the chapel and the plastering.

In the first stage, demolition works were carried out and a new foundation was laid. During the winter months a technological break took place. The second phase was started in March 2015 and completed three months later.
